Description

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintain a good working environment in all working areas and ensure good housekeeping and safe working conditions.
• Ensure that the operation and maintenance of the Electrical Installations and the Electrical Equipment are kept on such a high level that break-downs during operation are avoided; and check that these tasks are carried out in accordance with the rules and regulations in force and the Quality Management System.
• Be well acquainted with safety Management System; and ensure that this is applied in the daily work on board. Particular attention to be paid to the Work Permit System and implementation of electrical safety.
• Ensure that the operation and maintenance of the Automatic Electric Systems and associated components and other Electronic Equipment installed on board are kept on such a high level that break down during operation is avoided.
• Check that the above tasks are carried out in accordance with the rules and regulations in force together with the Quality Management System.
• Inspect and test regularly the Automatic Electronic Systems and Electronic Equipment are installed on board, and ensure that the equipment at all times are in safe and proper condition and in compliance with the regulations and has the necessary certification.
• Carry out necessary repairs and maintenance of all Automatic Electric Systems and Electronic Equipment on board in accordance with EDC Quality Management System and under that management of the Senior Tool pusher.
• Ensure that the Emergency Shutdown System is in working order at all times.
• Assist the Rig Engineer regarding technical questions in respect of modifications and other matters regarding the Automatic Electric Systems and the Electronic Equipment.
• Follow up the requirements and recommendations of the Representatives of the Authorities and /or the Classification after inspection.
• Ensure that oscilloscopes, multi-meters and test equipment are available and serviced.
• Check and calibrate the gas detecting equipment and other warning and alarm systems on board frequently. Ensure also that fire dampeners are in working order.
• Co-operate closely with the Technical Section at the rig and upon request assist as required.
• Keep the Maintenance Log and the PMS records updated, and prepare reports regarding the Automatic Electric System and the Electronic Equipment in accordance with PMS Work Instructions.
• Maintain the filing of drawings and manuals for the Automatic Electrical Systems and the Electronic Equipment in good order.
• Assist the Materials Man and the Senior Electrician regarding ordering of spares and keeping inventory of Electronic and Electrical Components.
• Conduct himself in a manner which safeguards his own and his colleagues' safety and health-
• Advise on the safe operation of Electrical Equipment.
• Perform duties safely in accordance with instructions, procedures and training.
• Carry out Electrical Isolation in conjunction with the Permit to Work System under the supervision of the Rig Senior Tool pusher.
• Co-operate in enhancing safety standards.
• Check and calibrate Gas Detection Equipment onboard under the supervision of the Rig Senior Tool pusher.
• Participate in all safety training.
• Responsible for documenting and recording Jobs within his duties.
• Complete comprehensive Hand-Over Reports & Daily Reports for his relief on board. Copy of these to be distributed to Rig Engineer and Senior Electrician.
• Follow safety Management System Procedures and Instructions.

Job Overview

• Qualifications:
- Relevant Engineering degree (Electrical Engineer/Mechatronics).
- Age less than 30 years (Preferably 23-26).
- Good English Level.
- Good Communication Skills.
