- Understand Hoisting System loads and operation
- Understand the different theories of operation of different Draw works Power Transmission Systems
- Understand the different theories of operation of different braking systems
- Perform Hoisting System routine inspection
- Perform Draw works routine maintenance, measurements and inspections
- Understand and maintain spinning catheads
- Understand and adjust hydraulic catheads
- Perform standard troubleshooting for Draw works
